We have many goals while using Marketo but the main goal is to nurture our leads. Marketo facilitates this by making it very easy to set up campaigns and put leads where they belong along their buying process.
I used hubspot for a very brief time before we integrated Marketo. I wasn't in hubspot long enough to compare the two but my manager preferred Marketo which is why we made the switch.
As long as Marketo is implemented properly and you keep a clean workspace, Marketo is great for marketers. Marketo offers marketers extensive marketing solutions. As long as you spend the time learning, it is very easy to use and become a power user within your organization. A major flaw I find in the system is its analytics/reporting features. I think a lot of work could be done there.
