Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We use Matillion as our ETL/ELT tool to sync analytical data from various sources and tools to our data warehouse.

Pros and Cons

Easy to use interface - even for users without data engineering background.
Many native components that do not require any "programming".
Powerful generic profile creation to easily extract data from any API.

Minor topic: adjusting a generic API Query profile can be a bit tricky. It would be great if we had proper EDIT functionality/flow.

Return on Investment

Easy access to all data that is analytically relevant.
Data-keen people can build data pipelines without additional resources or coding experience.

While everyone on our team has a general ability to work with technical data processes, we do not have a profound coding background. Matillion enables us to still set up all the data pipelines that we require and maintain them in an easy-to-use way.

Time to Value

As I was not involved in this process, I cannot tell.

So far, we have connected to all the tools/sources we wanted to.
