Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Azure

The whole organization uses Microsoft Azure for various reasons. The main reason is to run our product in the service fabric environment. The other reasons include creating virtual machines, classic cloud service, and SQL databases. Microsoft Azure helps us to avoid having physical servers [in] the environment which are high in maintenance.
  • To run the application in Cloud services and host in web servers.
  • To create virtual machine on the need basis and destroy after its use.
  • To create secure database in cloud to have easy access.
  • Identifying the cost of the resources is not straight forward.
  • Configuring firewalls and restricting access to the virtual machine is time consuming.
  • Need to improve the documentation to help creating the resources easily.
  • Good costs are saved in resource maintenance.
  • Secure accessibility of virtual machines over the cloud.
  • Availability of all the environments for testing.
We have not tried any alternatives to Microsoft Azure. To cater to our needs, Microsoft Azure was our primary option and it goes well so far. Apart from the application that hosted in service fabric we use azure for other needs like virtual machines, databases. As all our products are tightly coupled with Microsoft, it is easier to have all under one umbrella.

Yes

It depends on the need. To our needs it has really suited well, we are partnered with Microsoft and our product mainly uses Microsoft technology so we easily have picked up Microsoft Azure as our option. Apart from our primary need, we are effectively utilizing other Microsoft Azure features as well to improve resource usage and control the cost of the resources.
