Entra ID Review from Drew
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Entra ID
We leverage Microsoft Entra ID to manage all of our user objects, lists, domains, and it is the backbone for our Endpoint Management deployment, which is Microsoft InTune. It also allows us to manage Conditional Access policies, review risky sign-ins from any of our users, and an audit log for referencing previous changes.
Pros
- Providing a single pane of glass to manage all objects in our tenant
- Provide insight into our tenant's health and overall posture
- Act as our Active Directory in the cloud, eliminating the need for physical servers
Cons
- Having a tenant switcher, similar to the one in the M365 Admin Center
- No need for physical servers to manage AD
- Single pane of glass to manage all objects
- Ability to add and manage enterprise applications that integrate with M365
We are completely cloud based, removing all of our physical servers and local Active Directory years ago. Since we closed our physical office, being able to use Entra ID to manage our Active Directory objects has been very easy and we recommend it to all of our clients who use M365 in any capacity.
Yes, we have various Enterprise Applications in Entra ID that integrate with our Microsoft 365 environment, as well as multiple App Registrations to make our company run more smoothly.
SkyKick, AvePoint, Adobe, DocuSign, Exclaimer, and others.
I have not, Entra ID works functions similar to how the M365 Admin Center works, it just has more functionality. As far as end-user experience goes, it is pretty much the same, nothing gained, nothing lost.
