Great for Presentations!
Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Excel
It solves the business problem of being able to make quick calculations on data and present that data in slide shows to management. As well, we can use the Excel tabs to show the differences in the data from month to month. We especially like that most other people have Excel so we can share the files outside of the organization (when applicable).
Pros
- Sum Columns
- Make pretty spreadsheets
- Import Data
Cons
- When running the Excel spreadsheet from SharePoint, I prefer to hit Save rather than to have the app auto-save for me.
- The version on my iPad is less intuitive (less functional?) than the version on my desktop - I haven't checked if macros work on my iPad spreadsheets
- I would like to put a mix of data types on one cell: text plus a link. HOwever, if I do that, it always treats the whole cell like a link.
- Positive: Quick to use - everyone has it!
- Positive: Integrates well with SharePoint and other Microsoft products
- Positive: Slicker presentations
Microsoft Excel is much different than other products that I have reviewed - it is for the purpose of organizing, summing, working, and categorizing data. Meanwhile, Lucid Charts is for flow charts - a completely different product. They are both great. I have never used Microsoft Excel for building flow charts.
