Basic business problem is to be able to aggregate large volume of data and identify trends and opportunities Use cases include: 1. Data analysis of support and performance trends. Connections to databases and pivot tables to aggregate information 2. Sizing of improvement opportunities and savings. Functions to estimate return on investment 3. Organization of information and tracking, collaboration with team members

Pros

  • Data aggregation with pivot tables
  • User friendliness (functions have definitions)
  • Ease of use (functions which allow for bulk operations)

Cons

  • Increased efficiency
  • Data driven decision making
  • Confidence with data
Microsoft Excel is superior to these as it has a wider range of functions and is used corporately
