Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Lists

I use Microsoft Lists as a place where all the registration forms from multiple Forms are hosted. In short, it is the master list we have for all our programs and even registrations. Also, Microsoft Lists allows us to export our data to other Microsoft apps like Power BI, so the data visualization for our reports becomes seamless.

Pros

  • Hosting data from multiple sources
  • Filtering items that are only needed for a specific query
  • Exporting just the data needed
  • Search for participants or event participation

Cons

  • Unlike Excel, you need to go to Edit mode for you to make changes in the entries
  • You cannot just copy paste like Excel
  • Automatic updating of data from Forms to Lists
  • The team can work more efficiently as less manual work is needed
  • Expertise is needed, not as easy as Excel
The first time I learned about Microsoft Lists, I was automatically converted. How I wish I had learned about Microsoft Lists early on; it could have saved me tons of time, and could have rendered me real-time reports regarding my work, as the data I work with usually keeps changing every time. I believe the best part of it is that it works well with other Microsoft products, so less stressful.
Google Sheets is less superior than Microsoft Lists. I believe that the automation that Lists is capable of doing isn't something Sheets can do.

Microsoft Lists is way better than Microsoft Excel because of the extra features of automation and integration. Somehow, they are not directly comparable, but for someone who just wants to view data in real-time, it is always better at Lists. It is important to note that it is very easy to download data from Lists and continue working on it with Excel.

Organizations with institutional subscriptions should consider maximizing the use of Microsoft Lists in their operations because it has the feature of seamlessly working with all the other Microsoft Apps. You can have a master file of multiple projects that are going on, and you don't have to manually do the updating. However, it is important to note that to maximize the Microsoft List experience, the team should have basic knowledge about integration and automation.
