Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Powerpoint

We currently use Microsoft Powerpoint for creating both in person and remote presentations and learning material. We have paired this product with Ispring which allows us to design interactive and responsive training courses that we can present to an LMS through Scorm files. We also use Microsoft Powerpoint to plan and narrate some of our course material finally exporting this as an MP4. This has been universally easy, and Microsoft Powerpoint is a program that most of the people we work with also have access to.

Pros

  • Page layout
  • Media Insertion
  • Presenter interactions
  • Compatibility with Plugins

Cons

  • Recording of Audio for presentations
  • Application of Colour Schemes
  • A way to turn of layout designer permanently
  • Our business would struggle without Microsoft Powerpoint
  • We have spent over £2000 on add ons to increase the use of Microsoft Powerpoint
  • It is easy for newer uses to pick up as it works similarly to all Microsoft products
Does what is should on the Tin some fine tuning options missing in things like animation but workarounds usually available from the community of Microsoft Powerpoint users.

Do you think Microsoft Powerpoint delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Powerpoint's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Powerpoint live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Powerpoint go as expected?

Yes

Would you buy Microsoft Powerpoint again?

Yes

Microsoft Powerpoint is well suited for creating presentations, slideshows and we have used it to create front of house video files using the animation and export to mp4 settings. It is not appropriate when people use it in place of a desktop publishing platform like publisher or for long documents when word would be more appropriate.
