Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Visual Studio Code

I use Microsoft Visual Studio Code to develop all the applications used in my organization.
We develop backend and frontend applications and we've chosen Microsoft Visual Studio Code as the to-go IDE for all the applications.
The simple interface and the extensions allow us to approach any kind of development, from the simplest one-page apps to the most complex corporate CRMs and ERPs.

Pros

  • Simple
  • Fast
  • Extendible
  • Customizable
  • Versatile

Cons

  • Lacks support for some languages
  • Fast development reduces development times
The interface is simple, clear, uncluttered. It is easily customizable to suite one's need. You can set shortcuts to virtually any operation you can do in Microsoft Visual Studio Code, allowing quick access to any operation.
You can apply themes and icons to match your taste and improve visibility of certain items (e.g. reducing opacity of unused icons/folders etc.)
Microsoft Visual Studio Code happened to be the easiest, fastest and more extendible between the tested IDEs, making it our to-go choice

Do you think Microsoft Visual Studio Code delivers good value for the price?

Yes

Are you happy with Microsoft Visual Studio Code's feature set?

Yes

Did Microsoft Visual Studio Code live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Microsoft Visual Studio Code go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Microsoft Visual Studio Code again?

Yes

I'd recommend Microsoft Visual Studio Code to any developer given how simple and powerful it is, except if they need a particular IDE such as Android Studio or XCode.
