Overall Satisfaction with Microsoft Yammer

Microsoft Yammer is being used across our whole organization. Our main use of Yammer is to get people involved with our different employee network groups. We’ve found it to be a great collaborative solution where we can give individuals the opportunity to work and chat with people they may not have the opportunity too on a daily basis.

Pros

  • It creates great collaboration.
  • Easy method to stay in constant contact with other employees.
  • It creates a casual, yet professional environment for people to share ideas.

Cons

  • The UI isn’t the greatest.
  • We’d like to see my updates to the platform to work out some kinks.
  • Allow more customization by companies.
  • It creates much stronger employee engagement.
  • Increased participation in our network groups by 9%.
  • Awesome buy-in on the product by firm leadership.
I would say Yammer stacks up to Jabber pretty similarly, except with yammer we have the ability to create more of a collaborate platform. We love Jabber, but we use that more for direct instant messaging, whereas Yammer brings us all together in a larger group (it’s been great so far!).
I’ve never needed any additional support from Yammer. We’ve yet to run into any issues with it, so I think an 8 is very fair based on the assistance that has been provided to us with Microsoft Yammer in the past. Please keep up the great work with the product!

Microsoft Yammer is well suited for a collaborative environment where employees have the opportunity to work with one another in a very casual way. It is less appropriate when using the platform for very serious conversations. We’ve found it to be more of an instant messaging software, so we would recommend staying away from it if it needs to be more than that for your organization.
