Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security

We are using Mimecast Advance Email Security as our primary email security gateway. Any email coming from outside or going to outside are Managed through the policies applied on the Mimecast gateway.
Mimecast Advance Email Security is solving our email security issue by protecting our company from phishing attacks by scanning the content of email as URL scanning, PDF files scanning, and other types of files as well. It has some well defined structure to block malicious content of the email without delaying the email. The inbuilt AI feature of Mimecast Advanced Email Security scan and detect the risky pattern in the phishing and spam emails and categorize them based on their nature.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security has almost all types of gateway policies that we can customize as per our requirements and set the policies as per our need. Every email coming from outside gets a tag of spam score and on that basis, we can set the level of policies on our organization.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security is protecting our business privacy and data by not allowing the suspicious email to our internal users and protecting our companies brand and data.

Pros

  • Mimecast Advanced Email Security scans email very well and protect the malicious one from reaching out to our end users.
  • Mimecast Advanced Email Security gateway policies are customizable and we can deploy them as per our need.
  • Mimecast Advanced Email Security has a queue to store suspicious files, if an email contains malicious files then Mimecast will deliver the email without that file and inform you to review it.

Cons

  • Mimecast Advanced Email Security has some points to improve, they made a false positive results on lot of emails.
  • They need to improve their AI, so that it can better predict the pattern in email.
  • They do not allow the exe file and many similar files if they are not malicious. By default, Mimecast Advanced Email Security blocks these file types, which creates issues in many cases.
  • Mimecast Advanced Email Security has made a good impact in terms of email security and definitely, I can say that we are getting a good return on investment from this tool because it protects us from malicious outside emails.
  • By protecting our business from phishing attacks, they are encouraging other customers to do business with us because they feel safe with us.
  • By protecting our users falling into outsider traps and protecting or data privacy, Mimecast is protecting our brand value in the market.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security overall usability is broad and can we defined in different ways. From making gateway policies to protecting us on every URL we click on our browsers, Mimecast Advanced Email Security is doing a lot of things for us. At very first level, it creates the policies on the gateway to protect any suspicious things to enter into our environment. All the policies have customization that can be set as per the business need. They have all the policies in place that required by a business to protect their email.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security provides a way to protect you from clicking on any malicious URL that has been delivered or present in your email. Once you click on URL, first, Mimecast Advanced Email Security will scan it and then it will allow you to visit that side.
As an admin, you can control policies and can manage the emails coming from or going to outside. You have all the rights to see the file going through the emails and who is sending what type of emails and then you can make rules and apply additional policies as per your business need.
We have migrated to Mimecast Advanced Email Security from Microsoft email security product. We made this decision after looking for the features provided by the Mimecast Advanced Email Security and the cost provided by Mimecast. On both cases, we find Mimecast Advanced Email Security is a good fit for our company need and business requirements.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security is better than our previously used product in term of features and usability. Mimecast Advanced Email Security has a lot of good points. The email gateway policies provided by Mimecast Advanced Email Security is larger than others and has a lot of customizable features. The ease of use of Mimecast Advanced Email Security is good and it is very easy to use and dig the things for analysis. They have sandboxing features that keep the suspicious files for your review. Mimecast Advanced Email Security pricing is reasonable and better than other products providing these features in this range. The customer support of Mimecast Advanced Email Security is excellent and they provide the support on time. The knowledge base of Mimecast is very good and you will find most of the solutions by just visiting the KB articles.

Mimecast Advanced Email Security is good in the case when an email is coming from outside and it directly contain the malicious code, malicious URL or risky files. Then their process works well and they block the email or hold the email for review. Mimecast Advanced Email Security is good in the case of any mail bomb attack type scenarios where you can create content examination policies to protect the user from getting bulk spam email.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security lack when email do not contain any malicious files or URLs, if you are receiving a phishing email with no URL/Files then Mimecast do not detect it but this email might have some normal conversation like CEO fraud where the malicious actor might be asking for some money transfer. So, in this case, Mimecast fails.
