Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Advanced Email Security

Mimecast is our Email security solution. It reviews and scans inbound email attachments and links for potentially malicious items or destinations, outbound emails for data leakage, and manual/dynamic secure email. The solution also raises awareness and tests end users on whether they think a link is malicious.

The Mimecast Advanced Email Security is super simple and easy to use and understand. Filters are easy to harden or bypass (if needed). Configuration is easy to understand, and if you do run into any issues, the online knowledgebase is really easy and actually very helpful. The administration console is deep and well-detailed, offering all kinds of information with a click of a mouse.
We were able to successfully and easily migrate from another solution to Mimecast Advanced Email Security. All aspects were easy, from ingestion to configuration of policies and content settings. Adding additional email domains was also simple. The prior solution used was ZIX GAME, which was very limited in what it could do.
Mimecast Advanced Email Security met my company's needs in every way from a security perspective. My company trusts this solution thoroughly (though nothing is perfect) and is very comfortable with it as it far surpasses our prior solution.
In our opinion, Mimecast Advanced Email Security was better than the other products we tested. It was more about simplicity for us, and we found it simpler to use. Also, our research from other users of these types of products also seemed to recommend the Mimecast Advanced Email Security. The options and the price were best for us.

Mimecast Advanced Email Security is well suited for any business or company looking for a solid, full-featured email security solution to protect sensitive data or reputation. It is excellent for banking, health, government, and financial services, just to name a few. However, this solution may be overkill if you are a small business that does not need these features or has data that must be protected or secured.

Evaluating Mimecast Advanced Email Security and Competitors

Yes - Mimecast Advanced Email Security replaced ZIX G.A.M.E. That product was replaced because its performance, management options, custom options, and reporting were very limited.

The single most important was a cloud solution. Cloud is the future (or now) and did not want any dependencies on the LAN and wanted the solution to work from anywhere on its own with no agents efficiently.
I would not change a thing. We ended up with the perfect product for our organization.

I think it's just right, but it needs to continue to grow and evolve to maintain its spot in the space.
Go with Mimecast support to assist in setting up best practices. Also, set up quarterly reviews to have your configuration consistently reviewed.

Mimecast Advanced Email Security Support

Support used to be great, but I have noticed it has dropped in recent years. When I had an issue in the past, I would get in-depth, solid answers. Now, it's not like that. The answers are not that clear or understandable. It's a good thing we don't need support that much, I guess, or that may mean we would have another product in place.

Yes. We are a mid-size company with a lean security team. If we need help, I want my team to get it instead of spinning their wheels alone.
A few years ago, we had a situation with content scanning emails from our email solution. I recall that it was a positive experience handled quickly and professionally.

The solution continues to grow and add features.
Overall, it's very good, but I do remember a few times in the past year we have seen some availability issues.
Pages need to consistently load quickly. Sometimes good, sometimes not.

Integrating Mimecast Advanced Email Security

Relationship with Mimecast

All went well, but we had an issue with our secure messaging licensing, which was not included, so we were not ready to configure it initially. Our salesperson needed to be better trained to understand the customer environment and the questions asked.
The only gripe is support, which has had issues only within the last few years.
