Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We route all mail from O365 through Mimecast Advanced Email Security for email security. We use Mimecast Advanced Email Security to protect users from malicious links and threat remediation. Mimecast Advanced Email Security ease of use is a big bonus for use allowing users to review and release quarantined emails. Mimecast Advanced Email Security automated alerts also a big bonus for our IT staff.

Threat remediation from multiple mailboxes at once saves time

Usability

Mimecast Advanced Email Security once you are familiar with the console is fairly easy to navigate. I find setting policies to be a bit difficult. Simply blocking emails could be easier. Removing suspicious emails from multiple accounts at once is really easy on the platform.

Impact

We were simply using Microsoft's native security solution in Office 365. It was easy migrating to Mimecast Advanced Email Security.

Mimecast Advanced Email Security had much more granular policy configurations than Microsoft at the time.

Alternatives Considered

Darktrace

Mimecast Advanced Email Security is a great product, but I think it's a tad bit behind some of the more recent email security solutions. notably when it comes to basic filtering and impersonation proections.

Likelihood to Recommend

I would recommend for companies in industry such as ours sales, wholesale, distribution, transportation. I would not recommend Mimecast Advanced Email Security for companies thought to be high targets for impersonations, phishing. I don't think this is suited for governement agencies or banking. Its a good product but not as advanced as say a Darktrace.
