Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Cloud Archive

Prior to the inception of Mimecast Cloud Archive, we as a company were heavily reliant on PST files for over 500 colleagues to self-manage. These files are exceptionally large, taking up a significant amount of on-site storage space, which in turn came with additional costs for storage space. PST files equally, are notoriously volatile and can create problems for the service desk team, trying to recover, repair or manage these for users. By use of Mimecast Cloud Archive, we addressed the issue with onsite storage, the difficulty for end users to manage their data, reduced the workload of the service desk team and ultimately, increased overall productivity for the business. This is due to the ease of use Cloud Archive possesses and the stability the platform possesses.

Pros

  • Ease of use, by filtering and keyword search to really pinpoint what you need, as you need it.
  • Removal of a volatile solution in the way of PST files.
  • Stability, the platform is almost always available.

Cons

  • The search bar, when using the Outlook add in, can blend in a little bit with the outlook search, making this a little easier to notice would be a major improvement.
  • A significant increase in productivity, this is due to a reduction in wait times for traditional PST files to load
  • A approximate 30% reduction in outlook related tickets, taken from our Zendesk dashboard. This is a direct response to the implementation of Cloud Archive
The tool is very easy to use, it has both a web portal and a built in outlook add-in, both with simple to use functions. My personal favorite is the keyword search, being able to recall specific parts of an email but not quite the subject or sender; searching keywords is a super helpful tool. Alongside that, being able to filter dates, times is also very powerful and something that traditional email clients don’t really cover.
The stability of the tool is the biggest factor, it has a fantastic uptime and the loading speed is exceptional. Long gone are the days of waiting for Outlook to open up a traditional PST archive, I can simply click, find what I need and go, usually, before outlook has opened the archive. It is an exceptionally efficient tool.
We have never experienced an outage with Mimecast, as such we can only provide a ten for this score. It is incredibly reliable and regardless of time, day of the week or public holiday, the tool is there, available and ready to use without any problems at all. In the event there is a planned maintenance, we are given plenty of notice, time frames and expected impact to services

- reduced waiting times, traditionally when searching an archive in outlook it can become exceptionally slow and a long, drawn out process. Cloud Archive speeds this process up and removes frustration when working to deadlines and needing to find key information.
