Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Cloud Archive

We have used Mimecast Cloud Archive for nearly 10 years now and it has helped in so many ways. First and foremost it allows us to maintain lean mailboxes, even since moving to cloud based mail platforms our users know they can delete emails and know they are backed up for 99 years!

Secondly, we have a large staff turnover and in our industry work happens via email. The amount of times we have had to search the archive as an admin to retrieve critical information pertaining to a job or client which has helped clarify an issue or dispute has been paid for the service many times over!
Our work is guaranteed for a lifetime so keeping all emails exchanged in the business is a must.


Pros

  • Integration with new version of Outlook and outlook web
  • Easily delete spam emails that don't need to be stored
  • It has paid for itself many times over! Client disputes or things that previous employees have said to a client or vendor can be proven right or wrong.
  • It has helped in legal cases in relation to a dispute with clients.
  • It has helped with internal staff disputes where something was said or not adhered to with policy.
It is easy to use. Maybe I am bias as I have been using the system for many years however there are many search parameters you can use to narrow down exactly what you're looking for or even using the global keyword search is easy.
You can also use it to extract a large number of emails into CSV or export to a mailbox.
There has never been an issue with the performance. I remember when we first signed on that Mimecast Cloud Archive promised a seven second search time, so all results would return in seven seconds. This has kept on being a 'thing' for us and all search queries return up within this time.
We currently do not integrate with other systems however we would like to integrate with our ERP.
There is never an issue. Everytime I have needed to access my own personal search archive or globally search across the whole business it works each time.
I cannot recall a time where the service was down when needed to be used and all our staff use it daily.
Mimecast Cloud Archive is by far the better system. Firstly it integrates into existing security services provided by Mimecast and overall it is built purely for email and large volumes of both users and emails.

If your business deals thousands of emails a day across clients, vendors and employees then ensuring strict policies around retention is important in allowing communication to be always stored.
Large turnover of staff also helps in ensuring that previous communications when people take over roles can be searched and stored for the long term.
Integration in older versions of outlook has also worked well for ease of searching.
