Overall Satisfaction with Mimecast Cloud Archive

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We make use of Mimecast Cloud Archive to ensure that we do not lose any of the emails sent or received in our environment.

It provides a form of security while also offering the peace of mind when deleting and or archiving emails.

It also assists in reducing storage space as emails can be deleted without the fear of not being able to retrieve or access them

Provide the option to select the home screen/page
Provide the ability to search only using a time range in the case where no keyword or sender can be remembered (can limit search period to 3-6months)
Allow the user to be able to reset their own password themselves

Return on Investment

Impact on business is major but not explicitly quantifiable in my environment in terms of business impact
ROI - Cost of archive storage vs additional mailbox/online storage.

I feel that although everything is clearly layed out, with no specific instructions, I've encountered numerous scenarios where users were able to log into the portal but did not know what to do or where to go and never ended up finding what they were looking for (until having to escalate to IT) which decreases efficiency

Performance

I have not encountered a scenario where pages failed to load or loaded so slow that it had been noticeable to the extent where I'd have to refresh the screen or try another time

Reliability and Availability

I had encountered numerous occasions where I was unable to log in. This was in specific to the inability to reset my own password and having to escalate and wait for confirmation

Alternatives Considered

Kaseya BMS

Its much faster to search for and send the emails as opposed to Kaseya where you need to restore the backup before you are able to search through the emails

Likelihood to Recommend

I was surprised by the amount of data/emails found within Mimecast. I believe that it is perfectly suited to archiving data securely without the fear of loss or experiencing difficulty retrieving any old, lost or deleted emails.

I cannot think of any environment where Mimecast will not be appropriate especially with the norm of mistaken deletion - that's before we even consider small mailboxes.
