Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint
We use SharePoint as a central hub for workflow tasks, as well as a document repository. Underwriting uses it to process policies; HR uses it to track vacation requests, and agents use it to access applications and rate pages remotely. It provides quick access to processes and documentation without the pitfalls of a traditional shared-folder structure. Workflow development with SharePoint Designer is straightforward (for simple tasks).
- Document management, due to its versioning.
- Workflow, due to its routing (email, notification, etc.).
- Remote access, due to its web-centric design.
- Easier method of uploading documents for end-users. Some find it confusing.
- Extend notifications to SMS.
- SharePoint has been great for automating some of our manual workflows.
- We've developed our own tools that we would have had to pay for otherwise (e.g. scheduling).
