Overall Satisfaction with MS SharePoint / SQL

We are using SharePoint as a document repository to replace shared folders. This makes our documents easily accessible from anywhere without needing to use easily saturated VPN connections.
  • Document Storage
  • Ease of access and collaboration
  • Security
  • Complex. Steep learning curve to get the most out of SharePoint.
  • Steep hardware requirements. Office 365 SharePoint is likely the easier option for smaller orgs.
Much easier to setup and configure out of the box. Better compatiblity with MS ecosystem. Easier to maintain.
Replacement for shared folders. Replacement for older databases.
