Overall Satisfaction with NAKIVO Backup & Replication

We use NAKIVO to back up all of our server infrastructures. From physical dedicated servers to hyper V VMs & file-level backup & bare-metal recovery backups, SQL Database Backups, and Log file backups. basically every backup there is, we use NAKIVO. alongside some other programs but NAKIVO is our preferred and main option. We have weekly, daily, and monthly backups set up and haven't had a single problem with ANY backup that came from NAKIVO. Other software has problems & bugs and random errors that make the backup fail, NAKIVO has had NOTHING in the last 4 years that we've been using it. Very reliable software for backups of all sorts.

Pros

  • Bare metal Recovery Backups
  • Restoring a backup to hyper V and automatically adding it & starting the VM. Easy to duplicate machines
  • email notifications if a backup fails, but we haven't had a single backup fail due to problems with the software in over 4 years. Very reliable software.
  • Scheduled jobs, are very easy to configure & monitor & setup.

Cons

  • transponder updates, We've had one problem over 4 years with the update just a single machine doesn't like to be auto-updated. All other nodes/transporters/transponders work perfectly.
  • If a backup is failing constantly, and it's set up send an email out every time it fails if it tries once an hour. This should be modified so I don't get spammed overnight with failing backups.
  • Auto-update transporters without my intervention once a stable build is out and has been tested elsewhere
  • Restore hyper V VM's & power them on
  • Backing up and sending emails if successful or failed
  • Database backup, best feature ever
  • Backup to network share/ NAS drives
  • 100% successful backups & verified integrity
  • Less downtime with the restore hyper V VM option, from a few hours of rebuilding the VM to simply just restoring the whole thing in like 30min depending on available network bandwidth
  • Peace of mind knowing everything works well
EaseUS is simply not on the same level as NAKIVO. NAKIVO is simply put the BEST. NAKIVO can do live snapshots of the entire server and every disk/volume without a problem, EaseUS usually gives us VSS errors if the Windows Server backup is running at the same time. It's good software, but NAKIVO does it all better and then some.

NAKIVO is amazing for all environments. From small to large, the software is very reliable, and haven't had a problem with it in over 4 years backing up literally everything. From daily around 40 servers to monthly at around 65 servers. All backup's integrity is verified and all passed with flying colors. Very easy restore jobs and scheduling is easy so very reliable for all types of environments. I couldn't possibly think of any environments where this software would be less appropriate. This is appropriate for EVERYTHING.
