Use Cases and Deployment Scope

We have used Nextgen EPM and EMR for over 20 years. We are a multi-specialty medical practice and have always liked how customizable Nextgen is. Within the template editor, we can customize by provider or specialty for a better workflow for our providers.

Pros and Cons

Pros

Fully Customizable.
User friendly for providers/staff.
NGmobile has been extremely helpful if system is down.

Cons

Lacking in EMR reports that give any detailed data.
Upgrades do not offer a lot of enhancements.
Lab/Radiology ordering.

Return on Investment

Less manual time needed for our staff that can now be done automatically in Nextgen.

Mobile EHR

We find NGMobile extremely helpful for all of our providers. They can check their schedules from anywhere. If the system happens to be down, they can still view and document charts. We do not utilize ambient listening.

Usability

It is very user-friendly for both staff and providers. Patients do complain about the usability of the Nextgen PXP portal.
