Overall Satisfaction with Notepad++
Notepad++ is used individually within our organization. We have content creators that may need to utilize HTML or CSS within their specific projects at times, and Notepad++ comes extremely handy for users like such. These users can begin to understand structure and formatting with Notepad++'s built-in styles and themes. Personally, having used Notepad++ as my preferred code editor for years, it makes me less worried about how the delivered code is going to look. From function suggestions to line endings, Notepad++ is great for moderate level users.
- New tabs are easily opened with a double click.
- Search and find in file/folder - with Regex too!
- Easily pluggable with custom or repository plugins.
- WordPress core functions incorporated (possible plugin).
- Terminal incorporation would be nice (some type of UI).
- Linux support for the other half of would-be users.
- Time being of the essence, Notepad++ can drastically reduce the time to view/edit/push code versus a full-blown IDE.
- Search and Replace can become a rabbit hole if you do not know REGEX all too well.
- Windows-only program. Meaning, if another user, whom you are sharing code with, is using macOS, they will be forced to use a different editor.
