Overall Satisfaction with Notepad++

We use Notepad++ to take quick notes and write drafts of emails or text that will be entered to complete online forms. We also keep frequently used text in separate perennially open tabs in Notepad++ so that we can easily copy that information and paste it into documents or forms. Doing so improves our efficiency while reducing errors.
  • Notepad++ allows us to keep open files in tabs. Like in a web browser, these tabs let us access these files quickly and easily. Furthermore, even if we forget to save the files when closing the program or shutting down the PC, Notepad++ retains them in the open tabs when we reopen it.
  • Notepad++ supports many different file types. We usually save our files created in Notepad as normal text files, but sometimes as JSON, PHP, and HTML files.
  • Notepad++ is lightweight and requires little resources. Using it is snappy and responsive.
  • The developer of Notepad++ frequently updates the software with bug fixes, performance improvements and new features.
  • Notepad++ meets all our needs from a text editor. There really isn't anything more or different we could want from this excellent software.
  • Simplicity of use as a text editor
  • Tabs that facilitate easy and quick access to files created or opened in Notepad++
  • Frequent updated with bug features
  • Free
  • When we use Notepad++ to write drafts of text that we will later copy and paste in website forms, we improve accuracy, thus avoiding inconvenient or embarrassing errors. By virtually eliminating mistakes in entering form information (which sometimes happened before we adopted the above process), Notepad++ helps us to maintain a professional image with partners, clients, prospects and friends.
  • Because Notepad++ is free software, it helps to keep our software expenses manageable.
Compared to Evernote, Notepad++ is much lighter in terms of resource usage. In addition, the tabs in Notepad++ are arranged horizontally above the text box, which is my preferred way of accessing open files. Evernote does not have tabs. We continue to use Evernote for long-term storage of notes that contain images, tables, and other content (for which we do not use Notepad++).

I believe Notepad++ will meet the needs of the vast majority of Microsoft Windows users looking for a more robust (and free) text editor than Notepad, which comes bundled with the Windows operating system. Notepad++ is packed with features, frequently updated, and consumes little resources. And incredibly, this software is free of charge.
