Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely Content Management System

We use Optimizely Content Management System to host our external website for the university. It helps us market and sell the university. It allows us to effectively tell the unique story of our university and convert site users to applicants.

Pros

  • Allow for many users with different workflows and permissions
  • Store content and data an an organized manner
  • Allow for effective taxonomy and information sharing across a wide range of pages

Cons

  • Spelling and grammar check integrated into the system
  • More clear and robust reporting mechanisms for things like data sync and automated jobs
  • Better monitoring and alert functions of potential issues out of the box
  • Ability to very clearly organize content across a wide-range of templates and block types
There was a large learning curve, but we felt that our partner supported us well in getting us up and running quickly. Considering we launched during COVID, it's amazing how seamless our process to get up and running really was.
I think that it is very usable for folks who are in it often, but it’s a bit of a more difficult learning curve for people not in it day to day.
Night and day. The Opti CMS is so much more usable and functional and built for our needs. The customizable templates and shared blocks are game changers.
