Overall Satisfaction with Optimizely Content Marketing Platform

I am a writer for a publisher that uses Optimizely for its corporate clients. The goal of Optimizely is to provide an easy platform on which they can manage all aspects of the content creation process in one place and allow multiple stakeholders to weigh in as needed.

Pros

  • Easy to format.
  • Easy to add photos.
  • Easy to comment.

Cons

  • Sometimes the track changes doesn't work.
  • As a writer it is easy for me to understand the intent of the piece.
  • It seems relatively easy for the brand manager to publish from there.
  • It makes it easy to see who's approved.
As I mentioned, it's easy to format the pieces and see where they are in the process, who is in charge of the next step, and how the timeline plays out.
As a writer, I don't use it for these things, but I can see how it would help marketers organize all their content needs in one place.

It works well as a place to manage content among large teams. However, it also works for small teams with just one reviewer or approver, which is good in many situations. By tagging them, it's easy to let people know when it's their turn in the process.
