Overall Satisfaction with Oracle APEX

We are using Oracle Apex for internal development like creating forms or automation of medium complex processes. It is a Power app so provide us both Web app and mobile app features. We are also creating reports in it with good visualization features. But it becomes difficult to develop the program in it, when the process is too mouch complex.

Pros

  • Creating forms for collecting data from users.
  • Automating manual process to systems
  • creating mobile app for existing process.

Cons

  • It is not fully customizable for a developer
  • It becomes to develop complex programs in it
  • The infra of Oracle apex in high in cost.
  • License cost of Apex is high.
  • Infra required for Oracle apex is also high
  • It creates power app which is compatible on both browser and mobile application
The usuability of platform is very nice. The transfer of code from QA to PRD is easy to do. We have no cost involve in Oracle Apex license because in our orginzation we had buy a lot Oracle DB's so it come us for free. That's the main reason, we are using in our orginzation.
  • Liferay Digital Experience Platform (DXP) and OutSystems
Outsystem is better than any system but it is too expensive also and Oracle apex is better than Liferay. Although Oracle Apex is cost effective as compare to Liferay and provides more feature than Liferay. But liferay provide the feature to move the program from one server to another but In oracle apex we have to install pre-requiste required for Oracle apex hosting.

It is well suited where we have to create forms in which user enters data and it will go to decided authority for maintaing data.
It is not well suited where we have to convert whole manual work to system in which lot of logics complex logics and difficult to maintain that program.
