Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS
We use Oracle Dyn Managed DNS to support our hosting clients. Initially, we found it to be faster, have better availability, and easier to use than other DNS services. Another nice feature was its ability to support Dynamic DNS agents at sites that did not have a static IP.
- One of the best features is the interface. Whether you are using the expert or simple editor it is easy to figure out on the fly.
- We've found support to be extremely fast and knowledgeable.
- It is consistently one of the fastest responses to DNS queries.
- It uses role-based access to delegate as much or little access for users.
- It has not made any improvements or updates in the 3 years we've used it.
- Reporting is still lacking common features like automated reports or alerting of usage.
- The SLA that was once one of the best is now one of the worst with just a 97% uptime.
- The price has not stayed competitive as other vendors have improved to match Oracle Dyn DNS speed, ease of use, and better SLAs for as much as 1/3 the cost.
- Over the past several years, Oracle Dyn's service has allowed us to provide a high-quality service.
Oracle Dyn Managed DNS is not keeping up with the alternatives. We would not select them in today's environment.
