Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS

We use Oracle Dyn Managed DNS to support our extensive and world-wide auto scaling environment. We needed a flexible and API driven DNS tool and Oracle Dyn Managed DNS fit the bill perfectly.

  • DNS changes are propagated quickly
  • UI is a little dated
  • UI is sometimes hard to understand
  • Enables agile ops
  • Allows for better control of revenue through autoscaling
  • Strong API means better automation
I have not used any other providers.
I have not had to use the support yet.
I give Oracle Dyn Managed DNS a 10 because the API is easy to use and there are libraries available which increase usability dramatically. The UI is functional (after some getting used to) but as a Software Engineer I drive my automation through the API.
Use Oracle Dyn Managed DNS if you want a strong API driven DNS provider. You should use it if you have a large environment and need quick DNS updates to support auto scaling or cloud workloads.
