Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Dyn Managed DNS

We use Dyn to manage the DNS for most of our larger organizations. We eventually plan to move all our DNS into Dyn.

Pros

  • Excellent site up-time
  • Ease of configuration
  • Robust reporting

Cons

  • The DNS admin interface is a bit out-dated
  • Reporting display could be improved
  • It has helped improve our reputation among clients, because the secure and high performing DNS provided by Dyn has resulted in increased uptime for our information systems.
  • It has allowed us greater portability between domain registrars, because when DNS is managed separately, we can easily move domains to a registrar that can offer lower prices, without having to worry about site downtime.
Price, features and security were better than competitor offerings.
Customer support has been consistently proactive in helping us decide the correct level of service (QPS), and has been quick to answer when questions were posed.
DNS management console could use an update.
Well suited to organizations who manage DNS for hundreds of clients, and who need secure, high-performing DNS management beyond what domain registrars can provide.
