We started using Oracle Linux in 2013 when we got our new Exadata x2.

Pros and Cons

One place for all Yum Package that help a lot.
When start using Oracle Linux 7 we face major network enhancement.
Technical support very well expert.

Easy handling Firewall.
Self update package.
Create event viewer center so we can see the event in box.

Return on Investment

Moving from Windows.env to Oracle Linux makes a huge different.
Cost of license also we save a lot.
The installation and configuration is easy for us than Windows.

Alternatives Considered

Oracle Solaris

When using Oracle Solaris we are stock of limitations but moving to Linux opened many options.

When using a Database I think Oracle Linux will be perfect for salability and securing but as a web developer, I think the link team needs to put in some effort.
