Overall Satisfaction with Oracle Linux

Oracle Linux is used by one of the customers we support, they had a premium license and we used multiple features from Oracle Linux. The main feature that we used is online patching for Linux servers using Ksplice. It is a very useful tool to apply patches on servers online including kernel and we were able to resolve so many issues related to downtime and long hours of a production outage. I am glad to work on this product and continue to work and be able to use most of the features.
  • Support
  • Linux patching made easy with Ksplice.
  • Oracle Cloud
  • New feature development according to needs of customers.
  • Subscription cost management.
  • Ease of use for all level users.
  • Create more awareness in people.
  • Can provide more features.
  • Oracle Cloud can become more open.
  • Cloud support competition.
Oracle is a good competitor for RHEL, SUSE, and other Linux OS. I personally feel that Oracle Linux has a great chance to stand at the pinnacle of Linux OS.
Every time we faced any issue, we see that Oracle support is very attentive and work 24*7 with users to fix the issues. Even when it comes to explaining the new procedures and ways they never back down. Oracle support is willing to give knowledge transfer on products and support users with all their might. Although I would say there are some time constraints which is why I have given 8 ratings.
