Overall Satisfaction with Oracle SQL Developer

I am using it for my daily work. I need to use it to perform my DBA work.

Pros

  • Backup and restore database
  • Normal querying data
  • Easy to check the entire server structure

Cons

  • It consumes too much resources
  • The snippet function does not easy to use
  • It is good. 90% of my coworkers are using it.
  • It is very easy to use
It is very easy to use. If they can upgrade their snippets function, it can bring it to the next level.
Oracle provides more functionality then toad freeware

Using Oracle SQL Developer

50 - We are doing on the risk assessment for the pipelines.
2 - We have the DBA to support all other employees' oracle issues
  • Database backup
  • Day to day data retrieval for the work
  • Database restore
  • We can use it for the spatial queries
  • We are looking at how to connect and join the Oracle and MS SQL databases via SQL developer
I use SQL Developer for more than 15 years and it allow me to do all my works there

Evaluating Oracle SQL Developer and Competitors

  • Ease of Use
It can do the DBA works and it is free
I think the main concern is whether it is free and how ease to use
