Overall Satisfaction with Paychex Flex

I used Paychex with a previous organization to track time and attendance and process payroll. It was a sound tracking system for the employee's hours, and payroll was pretty straightforward for hourly and salaried employees. I could use it to verify against our other time-tracking tool to compare hours billed to various jobs.

Pros

  • Time and Attendance.
  • Payroll
  • Paid Time Off Balances.

Cons

  • System Administration.
  • Payroll Administrator Usage.
  • Employee Service was easy to use.
  • Payroll was made simple.
  • Easy to navigate deductions, benefits, job promotions, etc.
I have not used the reporting - I did not have any reports in Paychex. I would only verify and print weekly and biweekly payroll reports.
I often had to be in touch with our Account Manager, and she was always extremely helpful when I needed to discuss anything I wasn't able to handle at the user level. My only feedback would be to allow the user to resolve issues rather than always reach out to the account manager level.
Based on what I've noticed, Paychex is comparable to Dayforce, which has similar timekeeping functions. I think Dayforce has a few easier-to-navigate tools from an Employee Self Service standpoint. isolved is much better all around from my personal usage. If my company had more functions in Paychex, it would probably be a well-rounded program for smaller businesses to function.

Do you think Paychex delivers good value for the price?

Not sure

Are you happy with Paychex's feature set?

Yes

Did Paychex live up to sales and marketing promises?

I wasn't involved with the selection/purchase process

Did implementation of Paychex go as expected?

I wasn't involved with the implementation phase

Would you buy Paychex again?

Yes

Paychex was a simple and straightforward payroll platform. It was easy to navigate employees' hours and paid time off. I had no issues running payroll on a weekly basis for hourly employees and biweekly for salaried employees. The only struggle was when I would find a discrepancy. It seemed like the person who administered the system at the business level couldn't access and correct problems easily. I often had to reach out to an account manager at Paycheck to resolve the issues. Rarely was an explanation or solution provided that I could handle at the user level.
