Good Reliable PDF Viewer and Editor for the Money.
Overall Satisfaction with PDF Xchange Viewer and Editor
We are a law firm representing individuals with ERISA claims. Part of our process requires us to obtain the claim record from the insurer or plan and then apply optical character recognition to the document, and Bates stamp the document. The claim records may be anywhere from 500 pages to 10,000 pages. Then we also create bookmarks on the PDF that serve as a log, noting key documents and describing sections of the PDF. This process allows us to easily search the document at all later points during the case and keep track of the location of key documents for when the need arises.
Pros
- Application of optical character recognition.
- Bates stamping.
Cons
- It is not as intuitive as some PDF editors.
- I often use the search function to find the feature I am looking for.
- We have tried several different PDF viewers and editors. This has worked as well as all.
- This software is much more cost-effective compared to many other products on the market.
- I especially enjoy not paying a monthly fee for this software. You can pay a fee for support and I did so for the first year, but I never had a support issue.
I have had problems with other software crashing with large PDF files, except for Adobe. However, Adobe Acrobat is very expensive, and this has done as well for me as Adobe Acrobat. I also dislike monthly fees since income for our business can rise and fall. I prefer to spend the money when I have the income and then not have expenses during the low times.
