Overall Satisfaction with PitchBook

Research galore! I use PitchBook for everything from tracking company growth, exits, leadership, VC and PE backing, and professional business development. I am using the product to solve problems that might clients need insight on too.

Pros

  • Research, allows you to think outside of the box
  • Organization
  • Amazing support
  • Speed, gives you everything you need to make an educated decision

Cons

  • Search feature. There are lots of companies with similar names, would be nice to quickly add a location or something to bring up the right company name
  • Hard to quantify but without PitchBook I would be failing at my job. Without PitchBook, projects would probably go on for 6 months vs the average of 60-90 days
The support team is FANTASTIC. Have always answered my questions
The data is spot on. I think revenue metrics are always off a bit but that is hard to evaluate for privately held companies. Same with employee size. Overall, the data gives me 90% of what I need to make a well informed decision
I personally love the organization structure of PitchBook. I think others like the UI of Crunchbase but I am not a fan of CB. It is too flashy. PitchBook gives you eveyrhign you need and makes it black and white. No need to flash up the data.
PitchBook does a good job at listing and organizing all the data needed right up front. No hidden tabs or things for me to dive deeper on. Very simple to use. I think PitchBook market maps are not as good as CB Insights.
