- Quickly understand company materials to sound smarter on calls
- Save time researching financials rather than going to EDGAR (especially for foreign companies)
- More thorough / robust financial modeling
This is core to why we use pitchbook. As a VC we frequently look into private company details. Our next fund's strategy is focused on LMICs/Africa, and finding funding/background data on companies in these geographies is often limited, but Pitchbook does a good job at consolidating this information. Helps us evaluate and quickly research opps
- S&P Capital IQ
A bit more robust for public company data - mostly used CapIQ when in banking. Especially the CapIQ excel plug in. As a VC, I need private company data and Pitchbook is better at that
