Customer Service

Usually don't use customer service to be honest. Have been using the platform for many years so fairly good understanding of how to use it. I would say that the yearly/semi-yearly check ins are a good practice to continue offering from Pitchbook, but I usually don't have much to say to the reps so I don't end up scheduling them

Comprehensive Data Quality

This is core to why we use pitchbook. As a VC we frequently look into private company details. Our next fund's strategy is focused on LMICs/Africa, and finding funding/background data on companies in these geographies is often limited, but Pitchbook does a good job at consolidating this information. Helps us evaluate and quickly research opps

Usability

Have been using this platform for many years so have a good understanding of how this platform works. Fairly early to understand UI so not much to comment. I hate the merged cells in the excel downloads so please remove that

Alternatives Considered

S&P Capital IQ

A bit more robust for public company data - mostly used CapIQ when in banking. Especially the CapIQ excel plug in. As a VC, I need private company data and Pitchbook is better at that

Likelihood to Recommend

As a VC investor, I frequently look into private companies and their fundraising history to get a sense for their raise amounts and Pitchbook is likely the best platform for that. I work in biotech/pharma so I look into clinical trial stage data - would be helpful to get more granularity on the phase of development (Phase 3 -> Phase 2/3 ongoing)
