Overall Satisfaction with Planful

Use Cases and Deployment Scope

Used the opex planning, reporting, dashboard, monthly forecast and yearly budgeting, mutliple scenarios, topline data load, etc. It streamlined the process and made it sure fast and accurate so saved lots of times for our deliverable, enabled us to have monthly forecast instead of quarterly.

Pros and Cons

Pros

structured planning which is the opex and headcount planning
dynamic reporting which has reports that can run each circle without changing any of the report itself but updating the substitution variable to make it dynamic
BS template which makes forecast BS automated

Cons

Topline complicated model still not working well in Planful but more based on excel
AL and ML function is not that much of a use
dashboard and restore or redo function can be expanded

Makes more forecast cycle from quarterly to monthly
Increase Finance visibility in the organization
Better in-time what if scenario plan enables faster decision making

Collaboration with Planful

It's easier since everyone has their own log in and can do their own piece there and save it. Not like before in excel everyone has to wait for other person finish and then kick in to make the changes.

Suite of Capabilities

Yes, now everyone is consolidation into one place and the datahub or cube process the data itself and we just need to refresh and process the cube making everything fast and more accurate and easier. The tool is finance user-friendly compare to other tools on the market.

Alternatives Considered

Vena, Anaplan, Pigment and DataGrail

Most financial folks user-friendly less technical support needed; most efficient and automated; data host in US; most automated with both the core application and excel spotlight in sync, you can view and sync in web or excel. Process time is fast.

Scenario 1: our opex and workforce planning only needs to enter the front end data and Planful will process and automate the process itself.
Scenario 2: our reporting and BS forecast process now is all automated which user just need to change the @curmth@ to the latest month and update a few items on invoice and collection, then all the end result will be populated automate.
