Overall Satisfaction with Planview Projectplace

We used it in a test run scenario in numerous office locations spanning multiple countries. The business problems we needed to resolve were mainly communication issues caused by e-mail (hard to track, team members missing in threads etc.). We were looking for a single channel for project team communication, combining with PPM Pro and on-prem instances of Jira.
  • Simple management and administration.
  • Task management.
  • Document management.
  • I cannot think of any items that are worth mentioning to be improved.
  • TCO will be much favorable than competitors.
SharePoint is not a product you can use right from the start without heavy engineering, administration, and maintenance, done by expensive experts. Projectplace is much easier and faster to start with and has almost zero maintenance due to its cloud architecture.
The fact that it is cloud-based is great for our multi-country virtual teams. This reduces the burden of installation, network, and FW setup... and it is faster to start with. Compared with SharePoint, which we used before, this was really a step forward for the tasks we had to cover. Not to mention the TCO, which is very good.
