Overall Satisfaction with Printanista
It is our primary managed print tool that we use to collect meters and supply alerts. This product solves (or attempts to solve) the issue will manually collecting meters from our customers. The onsites will push meters directly into our ERP and in trun we can send an accurate bill to the client. We have roughly 200 clients and 4000 devices monitored by Printanista. We pick and choose which accounts will get Printanista because it doesn't work for everyone.
Pros
- The ESN connector to e-automate works well.
- The reports are easy to run and useful
- Meters acurately push into e-automate
Cons
- The helpdesk and support is useless. I literally know more about the product than they do.
- The onsites and connection to central is unreliable. We have to hire an extra employee just to keep this running.
- The programers don't think about or test the patches the push out. Onistes break after they update central
- Some machines will show up in the MIB walk but wont actually show up on the device page. Thier solution is to create a new account. They don't have the technical capacity to figure out why it is doing this.
- Just a very unreliable product that we have multiple tickets a week open that they seem to never be able to resolve
- We don't have to call meters which is a positive. However, instead we have to be calling to reinstall the agent
- Meters are accurately put into EA. Its an automated process
- Since the onsites are so unreliable, customers run out of toner frequently and we have to run out toner.
They did add a nice feature where we can remote into a machines web interface and troubleshoot. However, like everything else, this is unreliable and only works about half the time. As far as using it for preventative maintenance, that really isn't useful. The life percentages aren't accurate. Usually we can push the product to twice what the life shows in EA. This might be a machine issue though since that is what reports to Printanista
Yes, this part works well. The connector automatically pushes the meters into EA so we don't have to have someone typing it all in. We haven't had any issues with this. We haven't tried the automatic supply quotes yet, but we plan to in the future
Cloud. It is nice that they autoamatically update Printatnista for us. This used to take me a few hours to do when we hosted ourselves. We did have a problem once where they didn't update it and we had an error code everytime we logged in. They jsut forgot to puch out the update. This took them like a week to figure out which wasn't acceptable
We have started to migrate our fleet over to Konica Minolta's vCare and Kyocera Fleet Services. Both of these are machine based so they are significantly easier to keep running. Not one machine on these platforms has dropped off. They do lack in reporting and features, but I honestly don't care. Just get me the meters and the supply alerts
