Overall Satisfaction with Proofpoint Email Protection

Proofpoint Email Protection acts as cloud mail relay used by the whole company. Gives protection from viruses, phishing emails, URL sandbox, and attachment sandbox. It helps the SOC team to understand trends and current security status, including alerting about potential infections, because there is no 100%.
  • URL protection.
  • Sandboxing.
  • Phishing protection.
  • Reports - not so flexible. Graphics and diagrams don't look modern.
  • SIEM integration from PoD. Doesn't come out of the box and requires additional purchasing.
  • Search capabilities - missing search criteria.
  • Blocks many malicious emails, and saves time from the SOC team.
  • In the POCs we did, it did a good job compared to other vendors.
Proofpoint showed good detection rates and provides the flexibility of creating policies that the competitor was not able to do, or it was much more complicated to do.
Prior to deployment, Proofpoint SE will contact to conduct sizing. Depends on the solution (on-prem or cloud), Proofpoint will send the requirements to support the needs. In case of the PoD (Proofpoint's cloud offering), all the work is done at Proofpoint side, and they will adjust your account accordingly. The cloud solution is recommended if you already using cloud mail solution such as O365 or Google.

Important to note, the TAP feature is in the cloud, so even if you purchase the on-prem solution, you'll need internet access.
