Overall Satisfaction with Pure Storage FlashBlade
We currently use FlashBlade as a standard NFS share. It mainly houses large log data for security reporting and analytics. While the FlashBlade is capable of much more, it fit this small use case need very nicely.
- NFS: for NAS use cases the FlashBlade excels/
- Backup target: dumping SQL files to the FlashBlade is simple and fast.
- The lack of CIFS support is a real shortfall.
- The price point and compact footprint worked well for a NAS unit in a co-location data center.
The NetApp All Flash FAS provided similar performance but had a larger footprint.
