Overall Satisfaction with Qualtrics

Graduate students across UT Austin have access to Qualtrics. Many faculty and students use it for internal and external research. Surveys are often a critical part of the research process.

Pros

  • The tool is very easy to learn and incredibly powerful.
  • Optionality is key: you can design almost any kind of survey.
  • The customer support is quick, knowledgeable and polite.

Cons

  • Some of the more specialized survey design options are not as intuitive as most of the tool.
  • Link customization of surveys is somewhat limited.
  • It allows professional, confidential surveys... which are critical for academic research. I am not sure how one can put a value on that.
Other than the price (Qualtrics is not free), it is far superior to any alternatives I have used. It has more options, looks more professional and offers data confidentiality and controls others do not.
Compared to others survey suites I have used, Qualtrics is far superior. However, it is not free and if someone needs to do a short survey without any bells and whistles there are free alternatives available.
