Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

We use QB's enterprise for our larger business clients that have more than 10 employees, inventory, and several users needing access to the file.

  • The inventory capability in QB's enterprise helps us realize the ROI on specific items we carry to see which products are the most profitable.

QB's enterprise allows up to 30 users to be in the software simultaneously. For growing businesses, it may be necessary to have an accountant for each division or role within the company. We use it for clients we see great growth potential in. We also use it for individuals that have multiple companies that need multiple-company reporting. You can easily go to the reports menu and select combine reports from multiple companies and [selects] the reports you want to combine.
I have been using intuit products for over 30 years, for me, the set-up was easy as with most intuit products. I do recommend having a professional set up your accounting software. I have seen many business owners try to save money by setting their own accounting software up and doing it incorrectly. Accountants prefer to set the files up on their own correctly rather than having to fix mistakes. This is even more true of QB's enterprise, [hiring] a professional it will end up saving you money and time in the long run.
My favorite (unique to QB's enterprise feature) is the level of support you get from intuit. Unlike other intuit products you receive the highest level of support from the enterprise team. I have spent hours on the phone with their support team and it's unparalleled to other intuit product support. The ability to have over 5 users in the software at once is very helpful for larger scaled businesses. QB's enterprise does not slow down, crash, or get overloaded like QB's desktop profiles can when the file has too much data in it, making it an ideal software for businesses needing to store more than 200 MB of data.

Enterprise is well suited for companies that need to have multiple people logged into the file at once. It is also well-suited for companies that require maintenance of inventory. We also use it for clients with large payrolls (typically over 20 employees). It's not appropriate for small-service-based clients, it's too clunky and tricky to navigate.
