Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Desktop Enterprise

We use QuickBooks for our business accounting. It is our main function for tracking bill pay, checks, etc. It's also our main source of billing and invoincing. It's a "one-stop shop" for us.

Pros

  • Preparing Reports - it helps track P&L statements, Accounts Receivable summaries, etc. It makes the process simple.
  • Invoicing - it makes invoicing a breeze. It does the math automatically for you and it's all stored in a convenient client customer profile
  • Tracking - It helps track invoices, bill payments, anything and everything A/R and A/P.

Cons

  • Customization -While there are a lot of built-in reports, customizing them can be very limited
  • Design - The design is a bit outdated

Our business has had many ebbs and flow - we've had slow months with few clients and busy weeks with a ton of new clients. QuickBooks has been able to support us through it all. It's easy to add a new customer and there are no negative ramifications to adding a lot of growth - QuickBooks can keep up with it all.
QuickBooks has allowed us to gain better insight into how successful our business is - we can seamlessly prepare reports to compare how we're doing. It's increased our efficiency - rather than tracking things by hand, we can easily generate reports and have all the data immediately. This helps us track our spending, tracks what client owes what amount so we know who to reach out to, or what client hasn't worked with us recently so we know who to reach out to.

Yes

We use it at a staffing agency with various departments - it's well suited for that type of work. Due to the class codes / classifications, we're able to separate the type of staffing we're providing and track things to the penny.

It's less appropriate for people who need a cloud based system. Everything needs to be stored on a physical desktop so that should be noted.
