Overall Satisfaction with QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions

QuickBooks is a basic accounting solution used by accounting department. The company had previously used Microsoft Dynamics GP; we found this software to be more than we needed and interface was generally not intuitive. QuickBooks Enterprise fits our needs more specifically.

Pros

  • We probably could have used a less robust version of QuickBooks, but we need the ability to refine permission/access of user roles.
  • The Advance Reporting and QuickBooks Statement Writer, in conjunction with "classes," has allowed us to discontinue the use of several spreadsheets we kept outside of the accounting software.

Cons

  • While QuickBooks Enterprise allows for some level of consolidated reporting, the canned options are limited and cumbersome.
  • QuickBooks Enterprise is a better value than prior system due specifically to price.
  • The program can be updated and supported by local staff saving on IT servicing costs.
QuickBooks Enterprise is preferred product due to ease of use/maintenance and its user access controls.
As mentioned earlier if permission/access refinement were allowed in lower QuickBooks versions, we probably would have selected those options.
