Overall Satisfaction with Radmin Remote Administrator
Secure remote access for IT Staff to network devices is a basic requirement for administration. We use both Microsoft RDP and Radmin for that effort. We have use cases for the use of both, but the primary reason we use Radmin is that it allows IT staff to access users computers without the need to end/suspend their active session. I believe Microsoft has recently released a shadow feature that allows this now, but we still use Radmin as our go to the corporate user network administration.
Pros
- Remote access use and speed is good
- Remote access allowing multiple sessions
- Remote access logs are easily accessible
- AES256-bit encryption
Cons
- More detailed log information for security investigations
- Securing access to logs
- Prefer company ownership to NOT be Russian based
- Cost is good for smaller companies compared to competitors
- Microsoft Remote Desktop Connection Manager (RDCMan)
We actually use both products, but our primary tool for corporate user access by our IT staff is Radmin. We use Microsoft RDP for access to our network servers since we can better secure our server access with Microsoft's product.
