Overall Satisfaction with Raiser's Edge NXT

We use Raiser's Edge NXT for all our donor management and reporting functions, in a medium-size nonprofit with two full-time development staff: the director (me) and a coordinator.
  • The design is beautiful
  • The functionality is simply not there yet. We were sold an online solution that simply doesn't exist yet. Maybe Blackbaud developers are working to build out the product, but right now many of the basic features and pieces of functionality which are promised by salespeople simply don't exist in NXT.
  • Reporting in NXT is useless, as outputs to queries can't be exported. So we use the "database view" for all reporting, which is the exact same functionality of the client-based product we had been using.
  • Data entry is also useless in NXT. We have to use the "database view" for all data entry, which is the exact same functionality of the client-based product we had been using.
  • Operational Efficiency
  • Increased revenue from new donors
  • Increased revenue from existing donors
  • Other
Until the promise of the functionality promised by NXT is available, NXT is simply a more expensive version of the old client-based product we were using.
The product being promised right now simply doesn't deliver. I'm hopeful that NXT functionality is being developed, but right now the sales pitch doesn't match the product being delivered.
