Overall Satisfaction with Read&Write
We use this products k-12 with all students that need accommodations for both reading (TTS) and writing (STT). Our student independence has increased this year, specifically for our students on 504 plans.
Pros
- Reading content to students
- Providing great vocabulary definitions
- Excellent STT accuracy
Cons
- I would love to see an expanded vocabulary
- there is sometimes a delay or the program doesn't load
- I wish that this and orbit note were combined to be one program and not have to launch the 2 separate products
- It has freed up the time our interventionist has to spend reading to students
- It has freed up the time our interventionist has to spend scribing to students
- It has increased student accuracy on high stakes assessments
It's more complicated than it appears. We would like to individualize it a bit more, but that takes more coordination than we have been able to give it at this time.
As an interventionist in the area of reading, my student independence has increased where students are able to complete things on their own and do not need my assistance to access materials.
We actually use them concurrently. Read&Write is not able to read PDF's and as a school with 1:1 devices (chromebooks), that is absolutely necessary.
