Overall Satisfaction with Rhinoceros 3D

Rhinoceros 3D is an essential tool in our office for architectural designers as well as the department of the interior. A majority of our clients wish to see the space before construction, and Rhinoceros 3D allows us to fully model and render the space for them to visualize. Whether it's a large scale building envelope design or a custom light fixture, Rhinoceros 3D can bring sketches to reality.

Rhinoceros 3D is an excellent tool for quick concepts, as are programs like SketchUp and AutoCAD. However, Rhinoceros 3D excels at being flexible in terms of file exports and the capability to work with other software easily like Adobe Creative Suite, Revit, and more. It is a universal tool that has many plugins expanding its capabilities, unlike similar software.
A majority of the support for Rhinoceros 3D does not come from the company itself, but from online forums and boards where other Rhinoceros 3D users outline their issues and solutions. The Rhinoceros 3D website does not offer much in-depth support and just outlines general how to's. At the same time, online forums allow for more specific issues to be addressed and solved by the Rhinoceros 3D community.

Rhinoceros 3D is an excellent tool for designers to conceptualize and study different design options quickly. Whether it's a large building in a city block or a small structure, Rhinoceros 3D is an excellent way to transform hand sketches into 3D visualizations. Rhinoceros 3D is excellent for concepts, but sometimes its lack of precision modeling makes it challenging to get accurate and precise forms like you would get in CAD or Revit. It is most appropriate in the design phase and less appropriate in the construction phase of architecture and interior design.
