Overall Satisfaction with RingEX

RingEX is used by my full organization periodically but most heavily by the engineering team. My engineering department uses RingEX for daily and weekly standups with our distributed teams, both full-team meetings and smaller agile scrum team standups. Team members are located around the US, and also in the UK and India.
  • Easy to use for users from different countries.
  • Screen sharing is easy and does not require an additional download.
  • Call quality is reasonably high and consistent.
  • The integration with Google Calendar works well.
  • Some of the settings are a little unclear.
  • Can be difficult to remotely start calls as the host if you are not on a computer.
  • Video quality is not great.
  • Keeping in touch with remote coworkers is necessary for an agile engineering department.
I prefer gotomeeting when doing lengthier screen shares or if everyone will be using their computer to dial-in, but dialing in from a phone and associating users is not always easy. Join.me has significantly more audio quality issues than RingEX does.
RingEX is good for distributed teams who need phone access but not necessarily video access. It's particularly strong where the users may not have access to a computer (the dial-in from phone works perfectly without login requirements) unless that user is the host of the meeting. The screen sharing is adequate for average use.
