Overall Satisfaction with Sage Accounting

I run a small business and was using Excel to file all my Purchase and Sales Invoices but needed something to assist me as the business grew. I decided to use Sage after recommendations from my accountant and it has helped me to streamline my day to day business time.

Pros

  • Easy access to all Purchase and Sales invoices.
  • Instant access to all outstanding payments in and out the company.
  • Great for checking cashflow and forecasting.

Cons

  • Ability to copy customer profile to supplier and vice versa
  • Ability to mark quick entry as paid at point of entry
  • Less input codes
  • I can issue invoices much quicker
  • I can input purchase invoice much quicker
  • VAT is so easy to calculate, submit and pay
  • CIS is easily inputted and calculated
I am able to use it daily for my simple day to day running of the company which frees me up to work on the main core business of selling products. The tax side of things is great for me as I did not have software before this so I am rid of spreadsheets and have no worry for mistakes

1 - I am the sole Director of the company so all work and accounting is by myself. For this reason I carry out all aspects of the company day to accounting apart from the end of year accounting by my accountant.
